Since PS Vita has been just released, every fan of the portable gaming console has had the time to fully experience the numerous benefits of the system. No matter how much you read about a new gaming console, its features and the games which it supports, there is a significant difference between what you read and the actual feeling of playing it.

PS Vita Review - Overall Impression of New Sony’s Console

It seems that Sony has yet again improved its mobile gaming system from all points of view with the PS Vita.  The design follows mainly that of a tablet and focuses on enhanced mobility. The most attractive characteristic is the beautiful OLED screen which gives off clear and colorful images and which gives a truly attractive gaming experience.

Besides form, the PS Vita follows with function as well. The console follows many ergonomic principles which ensure that the gamer will not feel discomfort while playing hours on end on the console. The curved shaped fits comfortably into the hands and all the commands are easy to reach.

In terms of software the PS Vita offers numerous options and some might even come to complain that the console comes with too many major titles at launch. But yet again, we are still mesmerized by the numerous genres which have been promoted from the start. From the not so popular MotorStorm RC to the more expensive FIFA 12, we can see all the major games that one might want to play.  And let’s not forget some third party major titles such as Lumines: Electronic Symphony and Rayman Origins. The only minus that one might find with the launch of PS Vita gaming titles is the absence of a popular first person shooter, with first releases announced around May.

Another plus is the new PS Vita interface which has come to be known as Live Arena. The interface is quite simple and focuses on the use of graphical bubbles which permit the user to access hub screens for gaming and software.  The interface is simple and uses the touch technology.  Presently opinions differ regarding the efficiency of the interface as while it offers easy access to numerous features, many consider that some actions require too many taps. We personally do not consider so, but yet again, everybody is entitled to their opinion.

And last but not least, the PS Vita has shown that there is a significant difference between gaming consoles and tablet or smartphone games. Even though all the ones mentioned offer the user the possibility of mobile gaming, only PS Vita will offer the gamer a complete experience.
